Across Tower Hamlets, Hackney, and Newham, two crises are converging. The voluntary sector cannot safely adopt AI. The community cannot access AI employment. East London AI Ready closes both gaps simultaneously.
Track A builds AI capacity in voluntary organisations. Track B transforms unemployed residents into hire-ready AI and Agile practitioners. Track A charity partners refer Track B participants. Track B graduates get placed with Track A organisations. The flywheel is self-reinforcing.
East London AI Ready is delivered by East London AI and Skills Community Enterprise CIC, a registered community interest company operating across East London. Our primary geography covers three of the most deprived boroughs in England.
Reverend Fred Abeka founded East London AI Ready because he occupies a position that no other programme founder in East London holds: he is simultaneously an ordained Afro-Caribbean minister with two years of active community presence in Tower Hamlets, Hackney, and Newham, and a practising AI automation consultant and Agile delivery practitioner with commercial expertise in the skills his programme teaches.
His background includes four years of commercial operations in Ivory Coast and Gabon, giving him direct lived experience of the Francophone African diaspora communities that make up a significant proportion of East London's most underserved populations. His trilingual fluency in English, French, and Spanish enables programme delivery that reaches communities typically excluded by language barriers.
The community already knows and trusts Reverend Fred Abeka. That trust — built through weekly worship, pastoral care, AI literacy sessions, financial education, and employment support since January 2024 — is what makes East London AI Ready reach the people that every other programme misses.
East London AI Ready is delivered through a constitutionally structured three-entity architecture that ensures community accountability, financial sustainability, and long-term governance integrity.
We are seeking referral partners, employer partners, grant co-applicants, and corporate sponsors. Whether you are a council employment service, a voluntary sector organisation, or a Canary Wharf employer looking to build your CSR programme — there is a partnership model here for you.
